5/3/2024 -A section of the Tuckerman Ravine Trail through The Lip Area is now CLOSED to all use
This section extends from Lunch Rocks to the top of the Headwall where it meets the Alpine Garden Trail. Only this section of the trail is closed. This annual closure is due to the magnitude of the crevasses and undermining, along with the severe consequences of a fall in this area. The Mount Washington Avalanche Center has ended 5-scale daily avalanche forecasts for the 2023-2024 season.MWAC will continue to track snow and weather conditions and issue General Avalanche Information bulletins on Tuesdays and Fridays by 7am for the remainder of the spring season. This schedule may be adjusted in the event of significant weather.
