The Mount Washington Avalanche Center (MWAC) uses a dedicated phone number to receive safety concerns and snowpack observations from trusted observers and partners. Messaging is operational, low volume, and not promotional or marketing-related.
Verbal Consent Script (Exact Language Used)
MWAC staff provide the number using the following explanation:
“This phone number is used by the Mount Washington Avalanche Center to receive safety concerns and snowpack observations. You may text this number at any time to share observations or concerns. Messages are delivered directly to MWAC staff for operational awareness only. Message volume is low and the number is not used for marketing. You may opt out at any time by replying STOP. Standard message and data rates may apply.”
